According to a report from Micah Singleton at The Daily Dot, Apple is planning to hold its next press event on October 21. The date lines up with our report of a late October release for Yosemite from July and adds that Apple will use the event to unveil two new iPad models:
Apple plans to unveil the sixth generation of its iPad and the third edition of iPad mini during the event.
In addition to the a new iPad and iPad mini models reportedly set to make an appearance at the event, the report claims that Apple will release OS X Yosemite on the day of the event.
Apple has held late October events for the last two years including an event on October 22 last year and on October 23 the year before, both of which were used to unveil new iPad models and OS X related announcements. At last year’s event, Apple announced the iPad Air alongside a new iPad mini with Retina display and also introduced the new Mac Pro and updated MacBook Pro models. We’ve reported on several rumors in recent months regarding new iPad models including an iPad Air with updated internals and a larger 12.9-inch iPad Apple is reportedly planning to release early next year.
Back in July, we reported that Apple has also been working on a 4K desktop in addition to a new 12-inch MacBook.
