The exclusive content available in the PC edition of Red Dead Redemption 2 is being rolled out to the PS4 and Xbox One versions. The game came to PC just last month and added a number of new missions and features as well as hugely-improved graphical capabilities.
Much like the PC version of Grand Theft Auto 5 before it, Red Dead Redemption 2 on PC was oft-requested, highly anticipated, and ultimately well-received upon its release. Screen Rant’s own Red Dead Redemption 2 PC review states that while it doesn’t address the fundamental issues with the game, the PC version is still the most impressive way to play one of the best Westerns in video game history. In addition, mod support for Red Dead Redemption 2 has greatly extended the game’s value on PC. PC players have also had exclusive access to the game’s intricate Photo Mode as well as additional story missions, weapons, horses and trinkets - but according to Rockstar Games, this exclusivity isn’t the case anymore.
In a new blog post, Rockstar surprised PlayStation 4 players with the news that all of Red Dead Redemption 2’s PC-exclusive content is now available on PS4 as well. This includes the much-requested Photo Mode, which is complete with all its features like free-form camera movement and the ability to add filters, stickers, or text. You can see a breakdown of the other additional content below. All of this content is free and will also be coming to Xbox One on January 21, 2020.
- Story Mode Bounty Hunter Missions: track down wanted criminals Herman Zizendorf, Camille de Millemont and Bart Cavanaugh Story Mode Gang Hideouts: take on the deadly Del lobos gang at Gaptooth Breach and Solomon’s Folly Story Mode Treasure Maps: Landmarks of Riches and The Elemental Trail “To The Ends of The Earth” Story Mode Mission Weapons Added to Story Mode: M1899 Pistol, Evans Repeater, High Roller Revolver and LeMat Revolver Horses Added to Story Mode: Warped Brindle Arabian, Few Spot Appaloosa, Perlino Andalusian and Red Chestnut Arabian Hidden Trinkets Added to Story Mode: Hawk Talon, Cat Eye, Shark Tooth, Turtle Shell and Crow Beak
This content has been added in tandem with the release of Red Dead Online’s new Moonshiners update, which sees players teaming up with a distiller to open and run a bootlegging business. After purchasing one of five different moonshining shacks, players maintain and upgrade their illegal alcohol distillery while responding to the unique demands of the market. New main missions will involve expanding the business, learning recipes, establishing clients, and, of course, eliminating rivals. However, Red Dead Online players must have reached the rank of Trader Level 5 before they can begin moonshining.
The addition of more single-player content should be welcome news for the game’s console players, especially after Rockstar said it isn’t developing future single-player add-ons for Red Dead Redemption 2. Photo Mode is also a boon for everyone, considering how picturesque the game is, and even without its exclusive official content anymore, there are still plenty of reasons for PC players to be satisfied with their own versions of Red Dead Redemption 2, especially considering mods and graphical performance.
