A Dreams player has recreated Red Dead Online in-game in a way that is accurate, while poking fun at the vastly popular game. Dreams was created by the studio Media Molecule, and it allows players to create and explore user-generated content. The title released on February 14th for PlayStation 4.

Dreams has received near universal acclaim and praise since it released a few days ago. After finishing up on it’s widely beloved Little Big Planet franchise in 2014, Media Molecule began working on this much more ambitious title. In Dreams players are given access to two different game modes: Dream Surfing and Dream Shaping. Dream Surfing gives players the ability to find games created by other players as well as discover assets, sculptures and art to view, or music to listen to. Dream Shaping on the other hand gives players the tools to create anything that they wish. Once something has been created it can be uploaded to the servers so that anyone else can access it.

According to Kotaku, Dreams player RikisCafe created a hilarious reimagining of Red Dead Online. Those who play the Dreams version will spawn into the environment as cowboy and can wander around for a few seconds. After those few seconds though the screen goes black and players get a message saying, “You have been disconnected from Red Dead Online due to an error on Rockstar game services”. Those that have played the real Red Dead Online will remember how poorly the servers functioned when the title first launched, and that exact message popping up on screen. To this day players are still dealing with getting disconnected repeatedly, which makes this dig at the popular game all the more hilarious.

Already there have been tons of amazing things created using Dreams. Before the title even released creator Bearly Regal showed off a demo for a remake of Cyberpunk 2077 that he designed using Dreams. According to Regal, his “demake” would feature PS1 style graphics as well as hundreds of characters, weapons, and missions. In the span of a few days a player has even recreated the opening scene of Fallout 4 in Dreams. While this is still a work in progress, it is still amazing to see the amount of work that has been completed in such a short amount of time.

Dreams is one of the most innovative games that has ever released. While a lot of games have creation tools for players to interact with, nothing has quite reached the lengths that this game has. Media Molecule is still working on updates for the title as well, and eventually wants to add VR capability for Dreams. With the amount of amazing content that is already out there, it will be amazing to see what Dreams players come up with next.
