Who was in the cast of Reba and which characters did they play? Reba McEntire might be best known as a Grammy Award-winning country singer, but she’s dipped her toes into acting several times during her career. Her first role was in the 1990 cult comedy-horror Tremors as one half of a survivalist husband and wife duo, and more recently she had bit parts on sitcoms Last Man Standing and Baby Daddy.

Her longest-running role was on the self-titled sitcom Reba. The show aired for six seasons from 2002 to 2007, firstly on the now-defunct network The WB and later on The CW, and was one of the defining sitcoms of the early 2000s. She’s a sassy and sarcastic mother of three who divorced her husband of twenty years after discovering the younger woman he left her for is pregnant with his kid. McEntire received a Best Actress Golden Globe nomination for her performance in Reba.

JoAnna Garcia Swisher – Cheyenne Hart-Montgomery

Cheyenne Hart-Montgomery is the oldest of Reba’s three children. She finds out she’s pregnant during her senior year and gives birth to a daughter who she raises with her high school sweetheart-turned-husband Van. Cheyenne is played by JoAnna Garcia Swisher who also played Ariel in Once Upon A Time.

Steve Howey – Van Montgomery

Steve Howey is best known nowadays for playing Kevin Ball on Shameless but before that he was Van Montgomery on Reba. Van is the son-in-law of Reba Hart who takes him in when his parents kick him out after discovering his girlfriend Cheyenne is pregnant.

Christopher Rich – Brock Hart

Brock Hart is Reba’s ex-husband – a dentist who left his wife for his younger dental hygienist/girlfriend. He’s played by Christopher Rich who – following his stint on Reba – had a recurring role as Mel Burke’s dad Russell on Melissa & Joey.

Melissa Peterman – Barbra Jean Booker-Hart

Melissa Peterman of Baby Daddy fame played Barbara Jean – the mistress and eventual wife of Reba’s ex-husband and mother of his child. Despite their circumstances, Barbara Jean and Reba gradually form an unlikely friendship.

Mitch Holleman – Jake Hart

Jake Hart is the youngest of Reba and Brock’s children and generally oblivious to what’s going on. He’s played by Mitch Holleman whose next role is on upcoming comedy-horror series The Undercovers.

Scarlett Pomers – Kyra Hart

Middle child Kyra Hart – played by Scarlett Pomers – is the most intelligent of Reba and Brock’s children and inherited her mother’s sarcastic streak. Before her role on Reba, Pomers was known for playing Naomi Wildman on Star Trek: Voyager.
