Star of The Real Housewives of Orange County, Vicki Gunvalson says she’ll only return to the franchise if she’s “respected.” Bravo made a brave move this season by shunning Vicki and adding a younger blonde, but fans are still unsure whether the move has paid off.

Fans of The Real Housewives of Orange County were shocked to learn that the OG had been demoted from the cast earlier this year to friend status. Then viewers witnessed a small miracle as Kelly Dodd and Gunvalson seemingly put their hate for one another aside and patched things up. The two housewives had been in an ongoing feud since Vicki insinuated at the last reunion from season 13 that Dodd was addicted to cocaine. The phenomenon took place while all the ladies were cooking their own dinner at the Miraval Resort and Spa in Arizona. Now, the original real housewife is looking for some respect from the other ladies.

While in New York City for the very first BravoCon Gunvalson revealed that she would not film again for the show unless she was given the recognition she deserved as the first housewife of them all. On November 16th, Gunvalson told Us Weekly that she was the cast member that created the franchise - implying the Bravo network would be nothing without her. The reality star went onto say that she “needed to be respected for that.” The businesswoman broke hearts at the fan gathering by saying she would never come back as under the “friend” status and either she is all in as a main castmember or she’s out.

The 58-year-old went on to say that if Bravo did not want or need her anymore, she was fine with that, just don’t disrespect her and what she had done for the show’s popularity. Being downgraded from the main cast member to a friend for season 14 was humiliating for the insurance company owner as she had to confirm the rumors via her Instagram account. The mother of two had opened up her life to viewers for the last 14 years - documenting her divorce, the loss of her mother, and being lied to by her ex-boyfriend about his cancer. Naturally, the Coto insurance owner had been uncertain where her loyalties lied and what her future was with the franchise.

At the time that Gunvalson found out, she had been demoted she commented that she may have “pissed” someone at Bravo off to make them retaliate as they did. But in the end fans and the reality star believe that the network was just looking for some new storylines. The OG did tell her fans at BravoCon that having to sign the new contract one of the most challenging things she ever had to do - mourning a loss of who her character used to be.
