The Real Housewives’ Vicki Gunvalson dropped her defamation lawsuit against Kelly Dodd. The bad blood between the two never seems to end, even after they both have apologized to one another in the current season.
Recently on The Real Housewives of Orange County, viewers witnessed a small miracle as Dodd and Gunvalson seemingly put their distaste for one another aside and patched things up. The two housewives had been in an ongoing feud since Gunvalson suggested at the last reunion from season 13 that Dodd was addicted to drugs. The latest incident took place while all the ladies were cooking their own dinner at the Miraval Resort and Spa in Arizona. The two both praised each other on their good looks, and then the healing started to take place.
On November 1, Gunvalson filed legal papers with a Los Angeles courthouse concerning derogatory remarks that Dodd had made about her character. Us Weekly reported that Gunvalson was also in the process of suing the producers of The Real Housewives of Orange County and NBC Universal. But a source who is close to the production crew said that Gunvalson had taken the paperwork back. The O.G. of the O.C. withdrew her complaint against the Bravo network even though Bravo will still be airing the scenes that Gunvalson wanted to be cut. According to the source, Gunvalson, who was demoted to a friend this season, will also be at the reunion.
The scene in question shows Dodd having accused Gunvalson as being a predator who likes to target older individuals and went as far as accusing her of being a con woman. Since Gunvalson owns her own insurance company, Coto Insurance, she had no choice but to file to paperwork under the pseudonym, “Jane Roe.” If the CEO had left the paperwork with the courts, she may have been granted an injunction on the airing of the episode and been awarded damages for the alleged remarks.
Season 14 has already shown that the women of The Real Housewives of Orange County have not let their ill feelings for one another go, as on the most recent season, Dodd refused to attend Gunvalson’s tea-themed birthday and said she would only go if it were her funeral. Dodd has been very open with her opinions about Gunvalson, claiming that the O.G. only uses her castmates for a storyline and was more than happy to see her be demoted from the hit show. It is important to note that Gunvalson was not the only one who had trouble with Dodd; Shannon Beador almost pressed assault charges on her for smacking her in the head with a meditation mallet. Fans can only assume that season 14 still has some fights left to air, including the big one between Dodd and Tamra Judge.
