The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Denise Richards claims that Charlie Sheen owes nearly $500k in child support. The infamous actor often has made the headlines for his drug and alcohol rampages and for most recently in 2015 coming out as HIV positive.
In August, Richards opened up about her current financial struggles after her divorce from the Two and a Half Men star. She said she was forced into doing a show on E! called Denise Richards: It’s Complicated just to be able to pay for her legal bills. In the end, the divorce bled the actress dry. The couple finalized their divorce in November of 2006 after three years of marriage. They share custody of their two children, 15-year-old Sam and 14-year-old Lola.
According to court documents obtained by US Weekly, Richards alleged that Sheen owed her over $450,00 in back child support. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star then pleaded with a judge to force her ex-husband to pay the amount owed to her. The court document also revealed that Sheen had fruitlessly spent over $24,000,000 from the sale of his half of the hit show Two and a Half Men which aired on CBS. He was said to have used the money to pay off his personal debts and to continue to live his extravagant lifestyle - at the cost of his children’s child support.
The model also claimed in court documents that Sheen had diverted a portion of his funds since their last stipulation in 2016. The documents read that while Sheen failed to pay the backed child support, he moved $600,000 in assets to family members and converted thousands of dollars in cash to use at his discretion. Sheen retaliated to the allegations by slamming Richards in a statement saying that his ex-wife and legal team are pumping out pure fiction. He also ranted about how the model is acting like a coward and the truth will ultimately set him free. Sheen had previously filed to lower his monthly child support according to past court documents for both his ex’s Richards and ex-wife Brooke Mueller. The actor argued that he had not been able to find steady work in the entertainment industry which has resulted in a massive reduction of income.
While Richards may be in for the fight of her life with her ex-husband, she at least has been able to move on with her own life. The actress and reality TV star married Aaron Phypers in September of 2018 and the wedding was aired on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills right before she lost her home to the California wildfires. Time can only tell if she will be reimbursed for the lack of care from her ex-husband, Sheen, or if she will be left high and dry.
