NeNe Leakes tried to clarify that she called her Real Housewives of Atlanta co-star Porsha Williams fat before her pregnancy. Not one to calm a situation down, NeNe didn’t shy away from the truth during a “come to Jesus” moment with new friend, Eva Marcille.
Fans have been welcomed into Leakes’ $2 million home for the last 12 seasons since the show’s inception back in 2008. The Real Housewives of Atlanta was the third installment and the first all African-American cast. The Georgia peach has been through the wringer the past couple of seasons, from having to deal with her husband’s battle with cancer to her battles with most of the ladies. However, not only is she one of the franchise’s favorite housewives, she’s also the highest-paid at $2.75 million per season. Duking it out with Kenya Moore at reunions is also her go-to move.
Hate her or love her, NeNe Leakes has made no apologies for the way she spoke about her former friend, Williams, while they were at the height of their feud. On a recent episode of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Leakes and Eva Marcille made up for the misunderstanding the two had over Leakes being mic’d during a private conversation. The two reconnected over a fear of heights while on a girl’s trip to Toronto, but the Atlanta diva would not back down when it came to her opinion about Williams’ body.
While speaking to a very pregnant Marcille, Leakes doubled down, saying that her insults had no bearing on whether Williams had been pregnant with her daughter or not; she just thought she was fat. While many of the housewives believed Leakes attacked her for being pregnant, she said that just wasn’t the case. During the firm conversation, Leakes told Marcille that Williams had originally brought their private words up to the public as the conversation was originally for their eyes only, alluding to the fact that Williams had posted the screenshots all over social media. The 52-year-old looked into the camera and told Williams that she was fat before she got pregnant.
The mother of two made headlines back in March for her original comments that she had texted to Williams only six days after giving birth to her daughter, PJ. The text messages showed that Leakes had been offended over the fact that Williams insinuated that she had put her hands on her during the closet incident last season and said that Williams was a liar and a “big fat hungry b*tch.” Fans of the Bravo show are still not convinced that the two will ever be close friends again, but it was refreshing to hear Leakes’ side of the story so that viewers could maybe have a better understanding of what really happened.
