Star of The Real Housewives of Potomac Monique Samuels faces assault charges after allegedly getting into a physical altercation with Candiace Dillard. The usually quiet Monique stunned her fans when they heard what she had been accused of. The young mother was an instant fan favorite and was usually the housewife trying to mend friendships - not destroy them.

The two feisty housewives are both married and were close friends when Dillard had become a member of the cast in the third season. However, in season 4, their close sisterhood fell apart but both seemed to patch up their feud during the reunion back in September. The two cried it out, ending with a genuine hug between the two. Now, however, something has gone very wrong within their friendship.

Samuels of The Real Housewives of Potomac found herself in trouble with the law after an altercation became physical with her costar Candiace Dillard. Court documents were filed on November 7th and read that the mother of three had been charged with second-degree assault by the District Court of Montgomery County in Maryland. According to People, the beauty queen filed a complaint against Samuels directly with the court’s commissioner and the commissioner found probable cause in the complaint and at that point issued a summons for Samuels to appear in court in December 23rd. With the summons, if the judge finds that there was probable cause Samuels could be arrested on the spot, which will make for a not very happy holiday season for her.

If the Bravo personality were to be convicted of a second-degree assault, the ruling could come with possible jail time. The original charge referred to allegations from October 16th - when the two women originally argued. The altercation occurred while the two were attending a dinner party with the rest of their castmates. It’s reported that Samuels grabbed Dillard by her hair and dragged her to the floor. According to a source, Bravo’s cameras were filming the upcoming fifth season and caught it all on camera. The recently married Dillard already released a statement via her attorney that read, “At this time, we do not want to say too much and just allow the criminal process to play out. We only ask everyone to pray for our client Candiace and her family.” Her lawyer also claimed that the embarrassment and distress had taken a toll on the housewife and had been very painful for her to be attacked so ferociously. Dillard’s statement also said that she hoped that Samuels would seek out help to work on her bad behavior.

Samuels’s attorney fired back at the accusations saying the Dillard’s claims are one-sided and inaccurate. Fans will recall that during season 4 Dillard was the one who turned a butter knife into a weapon when she became angry with Ashley Darby. While the Maryland court system has their hands full, fans of The Real Housewives of Potomac are hoping that the two women will be able to work out their difference - saving Samuels from any jail time.
