Bravo’s The Real Housewives of New York star Luann de Lesseps recently hinted that there might be a new cast member joining the series. Apparently, the network may have already cast someone.

Last season was an eventful one for the women of The Real Housewives of New York. Fresh out of rehab, de Lesseps launched a cabaret career, while her friends tried to control her quickly growing ego. Meanwhile, co-star Bethenny Frankel dealt with the sudden loss of her fiancé Dennis Shields. No new full-time cast members joined the show, despite Real Housewife Carole Radziwill’s departure last year. De Lesseps’ friend Barbara Kavovit joined as a supporting cast member, but recently revealed on Instagram that she wouldn’t be returning. Apparently, someone else will fill her shoes - and de Lesseps knows who.

During an interview with Michelle Collins on her SiriusXM show, the Real Housewives of New York City star hinted that someone new would be holding a golden apple in the opening credits of Season 12. When Collins asked de Lesseps about a rumor that co-star Ramona Singer wants Missy Pool, an ex-girlfriend of de Lesseps’ ex-husband Tom D’Agostino, as the new housewife, she said, “I don’t think that’s going to happen. Because I think they already cast somebody else." She added that she couldn’t say who was cast, just that she knew they’d found someone. To cover her tracks (and clean up the tea she’d just spilled), de Lesseps said, “Don’t quote me." She also wouldn’t says if the person is married or single. Currently, all the cast members are single.

While de Lesseps wouldn’t name names, fortunately for her, it sounds like it’s not going to be D’Agostino’s ex. And it’d definitely not going to be Kavovit. As the “friend” on the show - someone who isn’t a full-time cast member but appears on the series and attends group trips - Kavovit never quite found her place in the group. She recently told a fan on Instagram that she didn’t think she’d be returning, although, she told Us Weekly she’d come back if producers asked her to. Kavovit said she felt she was “grounded” and really “lend[s]” something to the group.

It’s understandable that Kavovit didn’t last long, as it’s not an easy group to mesh with - a lot of stars have only lasted one to two seasons before. In addition to de Lesseps, Frankel, and Singer, the newcomer will be joining cast members Sonja Morgan, Dorinda Medley, and Tinsley Mortimer. Whoever joins the cast has to have thick skin and be able to hold their liquor. Unfortunately, fans will have to wait until the network makes an announcement or when The Real Housewives of New York premieres early next year to find out who it is - or keep an eye out for spoilers.
