The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Kyle Richards is to blame for fellow housewife Camille Grammer not returning for the upcoming season - or at least that’s what Grammer says.
Grammer has been a staple on the popular Bravo franchise show The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills since it aired its first season in 2010. Transitioning from main cast member to friend to guest and back, the only season Grammer wasn’t part of was season 4, but that’s about to change. In case you’re still not sure what the difference between being a main star versus a guest or a friend is, what title a cast-member is given can depend on scheduling conflicts or how much time can be devoted to the show’s filming schedule, how much drama can be created for the show, what ratings were the previous season, or if a cast member has annoyed other more significant cast members or producers. There’s a number of factors that could get you upgraded or demoted in the Housewives franchise. The worst of all is, of course, being demoted far enough down the list that someone is removed altogether, which seems to be what happened with Grammer, and she claims it was Richards’ doing.

In a number of Tweets that have since been deleted (via: Us Weekly), Grammer responded to fans who were asking if she’d be returning for the upcoming season, and she did not beat around the bush. To one fan the mom of three tweeted back saying, “I wasn’t asked back. It’s fine. I did my time on the show. And it’s Kyle’s show,” whereas in another, she yet again wrote, “it was up to Kyle,” which implies that power politics with the higher paid or seemingly more famous co-stars may have come into play with this decision. Grammer also wrote that she felt attacked by the other women at the reunion and she didn’t want to return to the show anyway, saying that the reunion was “an awful experience.” In response to another who said that Grammer should’ve made her exit when Lisa Vanderpump announced she was leaving, Grammer simply responded with: “Agreed.” An insider source close to Grammer said she has come to terms with leaving the show because she “needs a break” from the drama of the show and wants to focus on her recent marriage to David C. Meyer, as well as rebuilding her house that was lost in the Malibu fires.
To fill the void left by Grammer’s exit, as well as Vanderpump’s, Bravo has confirmed that two new housewives will be added for season 10 of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Bravo first announced that star Lisa Rinna’s friend Sutton Stracke would be joining the show. Stracke is a relative unknown on the series, but the fashion designer and mom of three described herself in an interview with BravoTV as a “Southern Belle in Southern California.” Maybe she’ll teach the women of Beverly Hills a thing or two about Southern etiquette. The second addition for the upcoming season is actress Garcelle Beauvais, who will be the first African-American woman to be on the Beverly Hills installment of The Real Housewives. It has not been announced what roles Beauvais and Stracke will be cast in, in terms of main cast or as friends of the housewives.
With Camille Grammer leaving, on top of Lisa Vanderpump also taking her final bows from the franchise, it’s hard to say if season 10 of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills will be able to live up to the seasons prior, but you can bet Andy Cohen and Kyle Richards are going to try.
