The Real Housewives’ Kelly Dodd was criticized for posing with President Donald Trump’s sons. Some fans aren’t happy that Kelly thought it was a good idea to have her picture taken with them.

Dodd has never been a housewife to back down from a good fight and has been a staple on the show for many seasons now. Her character flaws help bring the drama with her most of the time as she is fairly easy to upset. Regardless of her sometimes mean girl persona portrayed on the show, she had been trying to control her anger and lead a calmer life. After her 11-year-long marriage with Michael fell apart in 2017, she focused on raising their 13-year-old daughter, Jolie. Most recently, Dodd became engaged to Fox news anchor Rick Leventhal. The couple, who have only been dating for a couple of months, announced their engagement to at BravoCon in New York this past November.

Fresh out of the latest season of The Real Housewives of Orange County, Dodd is once again public enemy number one when it comes to reality TV controversy as she recently shared photos of herself smiling alongside members of the first family, according to People. On Monday, December 30, the housewife shared the photo to her Instagram account that showed herself, Leventhal, and the president’s sons. The couple was attending Jesse Waters’ wedding in Naples, Florida with an A-list guest list. In the photos, the 44-year-old was seen rubbing elbows with some high-profile Republicans, which included Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump.

Dodd’s post was captioned with red heart emojis, saying the wedding was beautiful. After some backlash from her fans, she later added to the caption saying she was not political at all and wanted to stay positive. The social media post sparked outrage amongst her following. Dodd took the time to clear the air by saying she just happened to be at the same wedding that the president’s sons were at. Some Real Housewives cast members commented that they loved her shiny evening gown, including Gretchen Rossi and Lizzie Rovsek - who both noticeably steer clear of politics.

Even if Dodd may have lost some fans with her political post, she is trying to concentrate on the exciting year she has ahead, which includes planning her wedding. After their quick summer romance, the Real Housewives of Orange County stars hinted that she will be planning a ceremony for October 2020. Whether or not there’s any significance that it’s being held one month before the next presidential election remains to be seen.
