The Real Housewives of Orange County star Gina Kirschenheiter provided proof that her co-star Vicki Gunvalson called her a “jailbird” following her arrest for driving while under the influence of alcohol. Despite Gunvalson repeatedly denying it, Kirschenheiter had receipts.
While Kirschentheiter has only been on the show for one season, her fellow cast member Tamra Judge previously said she’s the “rock star” of Season 14, meaning a lot of her personal drama will be front and center. In addition to Kirschentheiter’s DUI earlier this year, she’s also currently going through a divorce from her husband, Matthew, who she’s accused of domestic abuse and recently filed a restraining order against. While most of the cast was supportive of Kirschentheiter while she was going through a difficult time, the series’ villain, Gunvalson, wasn’t - and Kirschentheiter had proof.
In a recent episode of The Real Housewives of Orange County (via: People), Kirschenheiter offered proof that Gunvalson had called her “jailbird” following her arrest. Sitting down with Gunvalson and some of the other cast members, Kirschentheiter said she’d heard Gunvalson reached out to the other women on the show to say she “hated” her and that she was “another jailbird.” As she was speaking, Gunvalson repeatedly shouted over her, “That’s a lie!” Only, it wasn’t. And Kirschenheiter had the texts to prove it. In the messages shown on the show, Gunvalson writes, “So ridiculous…another jailbird…irresponsible.” In a confessional, Kirschentheiter said she felt Gunvalson didn’t respect her since she was lying to her face about the messages.
A lot of fans think Gunvalson should’ve just fessed up to saying those things about Kirschentheiter, especially when there was proof. But unfortunately, Gunvalson has a history of being deceitful on the show. She previously helped her ex-boyfriend fake a cancer diagnosis in order to drum up some drama for the series, and presumably, sympathy for her. She’s also been spreading rumors about other cast members, including that Kelly Dodd has a problem with cocaine. Gunvalson also adamantly denied saying that, but later doubled down on the accusations.
It’s good to see Gunvalson being confronted for the rumors and lies that she’s continually spread during her time on the show - she’s been a pretty much universally disliked star on the series since it premiered in 2006. Hopefully, the women will be able to squash their issues and get along (at least some of the time) this season. But as long as Gunvalson is around, it looks like that’s going to be difficult.
