The Real Housewives of Orange County star Emily Simpson’s husband Shane was accused of physical and sexual abuse against his ex-wife. The bad blood between the two former lovers has since been cleared up according to a source.

The Real Housewives of Orange County star Emily Simpson and her husband Shane Simpson have been facing public scrutiny since the show finished filming. The couple’s marriage problems came to a head on the reality show while Shane was away from his family studying for the California state bar. Shane had already failed the Bar Exam once in February of 2019 and decided to take it again; currently, he is waiting for his results to see if he passed. Shane and Emily were married on February 14, 2009, and have three children.

According to OK Magazine, Shane’s ex-wife had accused him of abuse. In Orange County Superior Court documents, Shane was accused of sexually, physically, and emotionally abusing his ex-wife, Miriam, during their horrendous divorce in 2008. After filing for divorce, Miriam declared that Shane not only attacked her, but was also addicted to prescription medicine. The court documents showed that Miriam claimed that her ex-husband made her feel trapped due to his control issues and that she often feared for her life. She even went as far as to say she had medical documents that claimed she became sick due to the abuse, having been diagnosed with a blood disorder.

Shane has denied all allegations that his ex-wife made against him, even pointing out that the police were never called for the abuse allegations. Shane has claimed that his ex-wife took his two children back to Utah without informing him, saying in November 2007 she left for a Thanksgiving trip and never returned back to Orange County. When his ex-wife did finally file the divorce paperwork, she refused to let Shane see his children. The father had no idea where his children were staying or the next time, he would be seeing them. According to the court documents that were filed within Orange County a judge ruled that Shane was to pay $3,000 a month in child support.

Even though these allegations happened ten years ago, fans are starting to worry for Emily, as they saw this past season on the Real Housewives of Orange County, the couple was not getting along. Fans are left to wonder if this could be a pattern for Shane, and if Emily should think about leaving the situation altogether like her castmate and friend Gina Kirschenheiter did.
