Star of The Real Housewives’ of Dallas, Brandi Redmond has decided to visit a wellness center after a controversial video from two years ago resurfaced. Brandi was always known for her joking ways and was said to be upset by the video’s resurfacing.
The Real Housewives franchise is no stranger to arguments and huge amounts of drama, with the Dallas version being no different in that regard. The show does have its own special Texas charm, which has won over many fans thanks to its big hair and even bigger attitudes. However, this past season has shed some incriminating light on one of the show’s housewives, bringing to the surface some racial insensitivity that cannot be accepted.
The fiery redhead of the hit Bravo show decided to take some time for herself after last week’s resurfacing of an insensitive video that occurred according to People. The former Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader took it upon herself to check herself into the wellness center so she could better herself and look back on the situation with fresh eyes. The representative for Weekly Dose of B.S. (the podcast both Redmond and her best friend, Stephanie Hollman talk on) took to Instagram to announce that Redmond would not be appearing on the latest recording of their show.
The representative wrote that Redmond would rejoin Hollman next week and that the reality star was being supported on her journey of healing. Last year Redmond had been under fire from the Asian community for her video which showed her talking about her squinty eyes. The video also included her two daughters, Brooklyn and Brinkley, in the background laughing. The video was recorded in 2017 and allegedly showed Redmond mocking the Asian community with an accent saying, “They ask me what Asian I am because of my eye.” The unflattering video was recently released again by Steve Kemble (LeeAnne Locken’s wedding planner) after Redmond had admonished Locken for her racial speech against Kary Brittingham previously when she called the housewife a “chirpy Mexican.”
While many online haters pointed out that Redmond was being hypocritical, others believe it was a one-time mistake that she has paid the price for. Throughout the last season, Locken continuously used racial verbiage against her costar; excusing herself because she was drunk or angry. The entire cast and production felt as if Locken was a racist, while Redmond had never shown any racial tendencies. The mother of three has always had a sense of humor that some would call a bit out there, but The Real Housewives of Dallas women agree that she was no racist. Fans are sending Redmond positive vibes for speedy healing.
