Brandi Redmond, star of The Real Housewives of Dallas, apologized after a racially insensitive video resurfaced. Redmond is known for her strange sense of humor on the show, but whether or not she deliberately meant to offend anyone in the resurfaced video is beyond the point.

The Real Housewives franchise is no stranger to arguments and huge amounts of drama, with the Dallas version not being different in that regard. That said, it does have its own special Texas charm, which has won over many fans. However, this past season has shed some incriminating light on one of the show’s housewives, bringing to the surface some racial insensitivity.

A fan favorite of the show, Redmond recently found herself in some hot water on account of her antics and accents, according to People. The former Dallas Cowboys cheerleader had to issue an apology on January 4 for a video in which she appeared to have mocked Asian culture. In her Twitter post, Redmond addressed a video that she had posted three years ago, which she promptly deleted after realizing that it was insensitive toward the Asian community.

Redmond profusely apologized to her fans for the lack of judgment she showed, claiming that she never meant to offend anyone. The video was originally shown back in 2017, but shared again by Steve Kemble, who was the wedding planner for Redmond’s Real Housewives of Dallas costar, LeeAnne Locken. In the video, Redmond changes the tone of her voice in an inappropriate manner as she shows off her new haircut. Her children are visible in the car with her. In Kemble’s post, he also went on to call out What Happens Live host Andy Cohen, as well as other housewives, for their comments that they had made against Locken.

Locken had been under fire for saying some making insulting comments about her co-star Kary Brittingham. Locken was caught by cameras making fun of Brittingham’s accent and Mexican heritage as she spoke to her friend, Kameron Westcott. Many of the Real Housewives of Dallas episodes have become emotionally depleting, especially when Locken delves back into her childhood. Even though Redmond adds some necessary comedic relief to the series with best friend, Stephanie Hollman, her behavior in the resurfaced video no doubt crosses a line. At this point, only time will tell if she is able to come back from it.
