The Real Housewives of New York City’s Bethenny Frankel has officially left the show for a second and final time, and the other Real Housewives, as well as executive producer and friend, Andy Cohen, reacted to the news. The businesswoman is now leaving the franchise for a second time to pursue other endeavors.

Bethenny has been a mainstay on The Real Housewives of New York City since the beginning. She was one of the main cast members for the first 3 seasons before she decided to take a break and film her spinoff show Bethenny Ever After - a show that followed Bethenny and her then-husband Jason Hoppy. Following the split with her husband, she went back to The Real Housewives of New York City for another five seasons, from season 7 until right before the start of season 12. Bethenny has gone to Instagram to talk about her exit and how she’s looking forward to the next chapter in her life - focusing on her daughter Bryn, her philanthropy, and future endeavors in the entertainment industry.

She wrote a very heartfelt post to her co-stars and to her fans about leaving the franchise that had helped her through the hardest times of her life and helped her explore entrepreneurship. She posted a long, emotional message to fans as a caption to her Instagram photo - a still of the intro of The Real Housewives of New York which shows her tagline, “New York City is my playground.” She went on to talk about how grateful she is of the opportunities that the show has brought to her, encouraging her followers to never give up on their dreams and to just “GO for it.” The man synonymous with the show, executive producer and personal friend to Bethenny, Andy Cohen, kept his reaction short and to the point, by just commenting with a crying face emoji.

According to Us, the housewives sounded off in their own way. Former Real Housewives of New York co-star Sonja Morgon posted a series of throwback photos on her Instagram with the caption, “Never can say goodbye. This is just a page in time. I’m happy that all the best is yet to come for my friend B.” Luann De Lesseps posted a picture of her and Bethenny, writing that it’s always a pity to see a fellow OG housewife leave the show, and then touched on their feuds during the show, writing, “@bethennyfrankel and I have certainly had our ups and downs, I choose to remember the ups. Wishing her nothing but the best in her next chapter.” Dorinda Medley kept is short and sweet, commenting, “Happy for you sad for the group x." Barbara Kovovit, who appeared as a “friend” and is also not returning for season 12, wrote, “You excel at everything - excited to see your next move!”

As many of the housewives did express their support and love for Bethenny, there were still quite a few that stayed silent, such as Ramona Singer and Tinsley Mortimer, who have been main housewives alongside Bethenny for years on the show. It’s definitely a bittersweet time for Bravo as they are losing one of the OG housewives again, but as Bethenny reminded everyone, this is not going to be the last fans will see of her. As for who will be replacing the iconic star in the show, it remains to be seen.
